On April 2, U.S. financial giant Fidelity Investments launched a pension plan that can directly invest in cryptocurrencies on Thursday, opening up new channels for investors to allocate digital assets.
According to Fidelity's official website, the cryptocurrency IRA (Individual Retirement Account) product is open to all U.S. citizens over the age of 18, and supports three digital assets: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC). All cryptocurrency assets will be escrowed by Fidelity through a cold wallet and there is no management fee. Investors can choose from three account types: Roth IRA, Traditional IRA or Transfer IRA.
