On April 10, US President Donald Trump hopes to avoid pushing the economy into a depression through his controversial tariff plan, CNBC reported.


Trump said privately that he was aware that the broad and tough tariff plan released last week could push the U.S. economy into a recession, but he did not want to trigger a depression, information from people familiar with the matter.
