According to Fortune, Trump's latest crypto project will be a real estate video game, and President Trump likes Monopoly. In 1989, the real estate tycoon launched Trump: The Game, a variant of a real estate-themed board game. In 2006, he considered launching a reality show inspired by Monopoly. “I always thought Monopoly was a great game,” Trump told The New York Post about the show, but the show ultimately failed to land. Now, Trump's latest project will be a crypto game with the Trump brand - a game that has a Monopoly-like feel, according to two people familiar with the matter. The planned real estate game will be the latest in Trump and his family’s growing crypto projects. In addition to the NFT series and a MEME currency, there are decentralized finance project World Liberty Financial, a stablecoin, and a Bitcoin mining company where the president's sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump II hold large stakes. A person familiar with Trump's new crypto game told Fortune that the game is an adaptation of MONOPOLY GO!, where players earn in-game cash by moving pieces on the digital Monopoly board and building buildings in digital cities. Another person who has no connection with this also compared the project to Monopoly. Both people familiar with the matter asked to be anonymous because they were involved in private business transactions. Trump's longtime friend Bill Zanker was behind the project, who helped the president launch his meme coin and NFT projects, according to people familiar with the matter. Zank's spokesman Kevin Mercuri denied that the project is similar to MONOPOLY GO!, but confirmed to Fortune that Zank is developing a "game" and plans to launch it in late April. He also said that Monopoly’s claim is “rumor.”
