On April 16, before U.S. President Trump announced a 90-day hiatus to suspend tariffs on most countries and triggered an epic rebound in U.S. stocks, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene sold U.S. bonds and bought Amazon, Blackstone and Tesla stocks.
The lawmaker is close to Trump, and the transaction was disclosed in her financial report last week. The deals are part of Greene's investment turnover and are executed on April 8 and April 9. Congressional Democrats have asked for an investigation into whether people related to Trump have taken advantage of the announcement of the tariff suspension to make a profit.
