According to Politico, employees of the Ministry of Defense’s digital services resigned collectively under pressure from the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Three employees told Politico that the resignations of the people would close the decade-old project by the end of this month. It is reported that the agency was founded in 2015 to help the Department of Defense adopt technical solutions during the national security crisis, with the goal of achieving Silicon Valley-style innovation within the Pentagon. The report said that the Defense Digital Services Department helped establish rapid response tools to help the military during the withdrawal of troops in Afghanistan, Ukrainian military aid, humanitarian aid and drone detection. Jennifer Hay, the head of the 14-member team, plans to leave by May 1, while 11 other employees will accept President Trump's delayed resignation plan. According to Politico, two other employees will also leave. A Pentagon spokesman told Politico that the office’s functions will be absorbed by the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office.
