In this episode, we are talking about congestion pricing – an area of mechanism design that aims to alleviate what everyone hates: traffic.
In today’s first part, we will track the history of economic thought that brought us here. In the middle, we will dig deep into the details of putting congestion pricing into practice, as well as technical alternatives. In the last section, we will explore similarities to encrypted networks.
Our guest is Michael Ostrovsky (@mostrovs), a professor of economics at Stanford University who specializes in this field and conducts traffic congestion pricing research in New York. Ours is also joined by A16Z crypto research partner Scott Kominers (@skominers), a professor of business administration at Harvard Business School, where he teaches marketing design and entrepreneurship.
With our host @RHHACKETT.
