During the Hong Kong Web3 Carnival from April 5 to 6, BNB Chain hosted the closed-door offline event behind the scenes of the ninth season of the "Most Value Builders" (MVB) accelerator project. This season is co-organized by BNB Chain, YZi Labs and CMC Labs. It brings together 16 startup stage Web3 projects to carry out two-day in-depth communication and tutoring.
As a project tailored for builders, MVB is committed to gathering the most promising innovators in the Web3 field. By providing mentor resources, technical support and ecological cooperation, early entrepreneurs can transform their Web3 vision into truly implemented products. As BNB Chain head of business development Sarah emphasized, this season focuses on real builders—those who firmly turn the Web3 ideal into reality and push the industry towards a “billion users”.
The agenda of this event covers core issues such as trading strategies, currency listing processes, team building and cultural shaping, and aims to empower these developers who shape the future of Web3. The following is a review of the key points of this event.
Special guest conversation: CZ and Vitalik are on the same stage
One of the most memorable moments in the MVB Season 9 closed-door event was the same-stage conversation between two blockchain leaders, Binance founder CZ, and Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.
This season's MVB focuses on promoting the implementation of blockchain in the real world, and the appearance of CZ and Vitalik also symbolizes the vision of cross-chain collaboration and jointly promoting the popularization of Web3. For the founders of 16 options, this is a rare opportunity to directly listen to the collision of ideas from the top of the industry.
In the fireside dialogue, CZ and Vitalik talked about the future of Web3 and expressed their high attention to key areas such as AI, which is the direction that many MVB9 projects are exploring in depth. They emphasized the importance of "sustainable and long-term innovation" and explored the need to build scalable and decentralized infrastructure and public products that serve the masses.
The two also discussed the integration of AI and encryption technology and its positive impact on society. CZ is particularly optimistic about the application of AI in the field of algorithmic trading, such as optimizing MEV arbitrage strategies and identifying liquidity patterns. He also envisioned that natural language AI represented by ChatGPT will become part of the future transaction interface, and will cooperate with the on-chain intention architecture to create a smarter and more efficient user experience.
When talking about DeSci (DeSci), CZ humorously stated “to make sure to have a good sleep every day”, showing his pragmatic attitude towards new trends. Vitalik is more concerned with DAO governance and privacy protection AI. He pointed out that AI-driven DAO governance simulation can help decentralized organizations collaborate more efficiently and overcome the coordination problems faced in current governance.
In addition, CZ announced a $10 million donation to the Vitalik-backed open source vaccine program, demonstrating the potential of blockchain to drive global influence.
This dialogue not only ignited the participants' thinking, but also set the tone for MVB 9 - breaking boundaries, collaborating and co-building, and using blockchain to promote real-world changes.
Binance Co-founder He Yi: Team and Culture Construction
Binance co-founder He Yi delivered a speech online with the theme of "Building Teams and Culture", sharing her experience in building a world-leading blockchain enterprise from zero to one for entrepreneurs.
She stressed the importance of culture and talked about the way you think and experience building an efficient team as a leader. For early entrepreneurs, this is a rare opportunity to draw first-hand wisdom in team management and value consensus construction from Binance's successful experience.
BNB Chain Ecology Overview
Sarah Song, head of business at BNB Chain, introduced the overall ecological layout of BNB Chain and how the MVB project is embedded in the growth path of entrepreneurs. She pointed out that BNB Chain is committed to providing full-cycle support for startup projects - from concept to scale, the platform has prepared infrastructure, financial support and market expansion resources to help founders grow rapidly.
Introduction to YZi Labs
YZi Labs head Ella Zhang talks about the team’s vision and values, and the role of YZi Labs in supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs. YZi Labs focuses on the cross-innovation of AI, Web3 and biotechnology, focuses on research-driven investment methods, and uses rigorous technical evaluation and in-depth incubation to accompany projects from 0 to 1.
She stressed that YZi Labs is not focused on short-term profits, but on long-term influence. Teams tend to support builders who are willing to travel through the bubble and truly create value. During the Q&A session, Ella explained in detail the standards and methods of YZi Labs when screening and supporting projects, emphasizing that "support beyond capital" is the key to promoting social change.
How to find a product market match
In a roundtable forum hosted by Sarah Song, Leo Su from Apro Oracle shared his experience on “product market matching” with Wayne Zhang from Meet48. They discussed how to find a real market entry through continuous trial and error and establish a closed loop of user feedback. For early entrepreneurs on the market, this is a profound inspiration to "start from users".
Financing strategy sharing
Alex Odagiu, investment director of YZi Labs, shared the theme around "early financing". He pointed out that the founders should prepare for financing around core issues such as team, market, products, user growth, business model, token economy and valuation.
Alex recommends that the founders build a complete financing plan, including presentations, development roadmap, ideal equity structure and target investors list. During the financing process, we must clarify the strong relationship between the team and the project and bargain with a pragmatic and open attitude. He also introduced common financing structures for Web3 projects, including equity, tokens or hybrid models, as well as standard vesting designs.
Web3 User Growth and Growth Flywheel
The discussion was hosted by Diana Dai of BNB Chain, Amitej Gajala of KernelDAO, Tong Pow of Hologram Labs, and Zhuling Chen of Bedrock discussed the strategies of the Web3 project in terms of user growth. The guests shared community-driven marketing, incentive mechanism design, user retention and conversion paths, and drew a set of sustainable growth blueprints suitable for Web3 entrepreneurs.
Trust Wallet’s Web3 empowerment approach
Scarlett Zhang from the Trust Wallet business team shared the latest progress of the wallet in supporting Web3 developers and users. She stressed that Trust Wallet continues to optimize the Dapp interactive experience to provide encrypted users with a more convenient and secure usage environment.
The role of trading institutions
Julie Luo of GSR and Moshe Shen of Wintermute discussed the role of trading institutions in the crypto market, with Alex Odagiu of YZi Labs as the host. The two guests talked about basic mechanisms such as market making and liquidity management, as well as how trading institutions build bridges between startup projects and institutional funds. As the market matures, the role of these institutions will become more important.
Use CoinMarketCap to achieve market expansion
Jin Choo, head of CMC Labs, introduced how to use CoinMarketCap, the world's leading cryptocurrency data platform, to market expansion and list coin preparation. He showed how CoinMarketCap's data tools and platform audiences can help projects improve visibility and expand their user base.
