Bitcoin sidechain Rootstock is advancing the BitVMX project, planning to release development kits (SDKs) within weeks to support developers to build a Bitcoin layer 2 network based on this computing layer. BitVMX is based on the BitVM design proposed by Robin Linus in 2023, aiming to achieve features similar to Ethereum smart contracts. Previously, RootstockLabs, Fairgate and Input Output formed a tripartite alliance "BitVMX Force".
